The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease has created Asthma Awareness Day: A Planning Guide to encourage organizations to plan events in schools and communities. The step-by-step kit contains information on planning, promoting, and launching educational efforts and activities. In addition, the kit includes sample tools used successfully by groups coordinating Asthma Awareness Day events. Special emphasis was placed on reaching African-American and Hispanic children.
